Inukshuks for everyone!
Inukshuks have become well known worldwide as a result of the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. The Inukshuk, an Inuit "wayfinding symbol" has communicated a warm welcome to Olympic visitors both within the current Winter Olympic Logo as well as in person, with towering Stone Inukshuks welcoming visitors to key Olympic Venues in British Columbia.
Traditional Inukshuk vary in shape and size, and perform a diverse array of tasks. It is a symbol with deep roots in the Inuit culture, a directional marker that signifies safety, hope and friendship.
The Great Canadian Gift Company is pleased to stock a range of Inukshuk related items that can be purchased as Olympic Momentos and Canadian Souvenirs. In addition to classic Canadian Inukshuk items such as Inukshuk Emblazoned Glass Bottles of Maple Syrup, Stone Inukshuks, many sizes and styles of sparkling Glass Inukshuks (made from recycled glass), Tshirts, Jam Spoons, Pate Knives, Bottle Stoppers, Glass Ornaments, Pewter Necklaces and Hoodies - we also carry a unique line of "Edible Inukshuks"! Made of delicious Maple Shortbread and created by the designer of the Olympic 2010 Logo, the "Inukshuk Shaped Cookie" ($4.99) and the "Build Your Own Inukshuk" ($6.99) Maple Cookies have been extremely popular! Attractively packaged with an instructive insert about Inukshuks and their origins, they are a delicious, interactive and educational Canadian item.
